Subic Bay Freeport Zone - The first Subic Bay Sports Fun Camp opens today with some 30 kids and teens who will undergo three days of training, games and inspirational lecture talks.
The stay-in camp, made possible by the Subic Bay International Sports Center led by President Beeyong Sison and Professional Basketball Coach and Camp Director Dayong Mendoza with partners Adamson Basic Education Department, DJR Group Marketing and Events, Chix Unlimited Farm, ChowKing, Purefoods Tender Juicy Hotdogs, SunBolt, Nike and the Subic Bay Yacht Club, will be ushered in by a motorcade.
Sison, an International Tennis Professional, will be using his International Tennis School (ITS) System for the first time while Mendoza, Adamson High School head coach and Purefoods assistant coach, will conduct the Camp & Play Basketball Clinics at the Subic Basketball Gym and the F.A.S.T. (Foot Work Agility Speed Training) at the Subic Track Oval together with St. Vincent High School head coach Vis Valencia and Adamson B.E.D. Sports Coordinator John Fernandez.
Mendoza will utilize the things he learned from St. John’s University (US-NCAA Big East) Head Coach Norm Roberts program in New York and the Speed Schools he visited in New Jersey during his US visit last November 2006.
The Campers will also experience basic Karate from brown-belter and the Camp’s Guidance Counselor Rowena Mojica as well as a 2-day, 8-hour soccer training and game session and an unlimited use of the billiards table and badminton courts.
A Nutritional Talk from Dr. Raffy Sanchez, the Purefoods PBA Team Physician, will also be in the agenda.
On the third day, the campers will get a taste of beach volleyball and swimming and aquatics training at the Subic Yacht Club under the supervision of Florecil Baltazar, accredited PASA (Philippine Amateur Swimming Association) and member of the Blue Python Swimming Team.
The camp will be capped by a tour of the different international stores inside the Subic grounds.
