O B J E C T I V E S
The long-term training process starts from childhood until the athlete reaches the age of maximum competitive efficiency. A youngster goes through the four development stages that are broadly classified as:
- Preparatory
- All-around
- Tennis specific
- High-performance
For beginners and intermediate players, the system stresses the following:
- Development of general coordination;
- Basic techniques, tactics and strategies;
- All-around athletic performance; and
- Endurance.
For advanced players, training is more tennis specific aimed at developing:
- Physical
- Technical
- Tactical
- Mental qualities
